The Fall TV Season
October 1st, 2008 by JThe fall tv season is here with new shows and the return of old favorites. Here’s my review of the early action.
First off in local afternoon/early evening syndication news I have 2 huge beefs. Hey CW channel 16, where’s my Reba at 4:00 and 4:30? And Fox Rochester, where’s my King Of The Hill at 6:30? Two of my favorite shows have been replaced by garbage. I’m not happy about that.
In primetime I’ve yet to latch onto any new dramas, which are my favorite. I’ve gotten burned two years in a row by the one season and done runs of shows like Journeyman and The Black Donnellys. I kinda like The Mentalist on CBS but I’m not ready to give it my full endorsement yet. 90210 still kinda stinks BTW LOL LMNOP.
The strongest return of old favs has been by The Shield and Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. I’m continually blown away by those two shows.
In the comedy category Big Bang Theory on CBS and It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia on FX are the best in my book. Of the new shows, Gary Unmarried on CBS is good because of Jay Mohr but the writing could use a lot of help. It’ll be gone soon.
It’s still early in the tv season and word of mouth will eventually build up for some new show. I hope it happens soon. I love getting into a good new show. Nothing has really grabbed me yet.
