ATTN: TV News People
Like all BEE listeners I spent my weekend watching Hurricane Ike coverage hoping for the best for our pal Newman. It sucks that his belongings were lost but Newman and his family are safe and I’m thankful for that. We talked and texted a few times and I got to see the local tv stations extended Newman coverage. Channel 8 you guys did an amazing job BTW.
The tv coverage was good but not perfect. I have 2 beefs. First, instead of saving his BEE t-shirt, Newman instead only grabbed things like personal documents, family keepsakes and his PS3 before fleeing the storm. He’s finally plastered all over the news and there’s not a BEE shirt to be seen in a cellflog or still photo. My second beef is with the photos used during coverage. Channel 8 cropped Newman from the BEE Morning Coffee Club logo here on our website. Not bad, not good, but not bad. Channel 10 got creative. They took a screen cap from a previous blog of Newman’s. Remember the one about the bad haircut. Seriously? Did ya’ll have the audio on while playing that video? IT WAS ABOUT A BAD HAIRCUT. WHY TAKE A PICTURE FROM THERE?
Sorry I had to yell. A good producer has to look out for things like this. It would have been funny if me, Terry or Steve submitted an embarrassing photo but we didn’t. Therefore I find them in bad taste. One of the tv producers should have contacted the radio host’s producer and I could have given you guys a much worse better one to use.

I said a prayer for Newman’s safety. After seeing that photo I’d like to take it back. Just kidding. Glad to here you’re ok brother. Hang in there.

Well that just confirms that Newman has a nice posterior. His lady is a lucky one! hahaha

Glad to hear Newman is is safe and alive. The morning show is my get up and go, and without him my day would start out dragging!!! Love ya, Newman. By the way great butt!!!

WOW Newman- with friends like that- who needs enemies? Seriously, you look better on TV when you are moving around…burn that bad haircut photo!! Jackson- use your producer influence and delete the bad haircut pics wherever they are… we don’t want Jeremy’s offspring to EVER see that one! Hope you are doing better after the storm. Rochester loves you.
