Withdrawal Ain’t Pretty
They told me my life would get better when I got off the stuff. That things would return to the way it used to be before I got sucked into that unforgiving lifestyle. Sure I made some bad choices in life and I got myself into this situation all on my own, but they told me I could turn it around. They told me to choose life over the slow death I was heading for. So I did it. I made the choice to clean up my life. I swear I won’t touch that stuff ever again. If you’ve ever suffered from addiction you know how hard quitting cold turkey can be. It’s what’s best for me. Although I will need all the help in the world from family, friends and the good Lord above 4 years from now. I will be tempted again.
Quitting the Olympics wasn’t as easy as I thought it would be. I’m a creature of habit. I like the rituals and routines involved with following the games of the 29th Olympiad. Instead, last night I watched “The New Adventures Of Old Christine” on CBS. The prisoners at Guantanamo don’t have it that bad. Why is that on tv?
I need my fix. Just a little, you know, to get me by. Something, anything. Badminton, sailing, equestrian, synchronized swimming, I’ll take whatever you got. How about an inspirational piece about the adversities overcome by the athletes of Liechtenstein. C’mon I’m desperate over here.
This is all I got. Almost forgot I had it. I stashed it away in my bookmarks one night when I was all hopped up on the Men’s 200m Freestyle. Hope this can help others like me ease our transition back into society. Whew.
Here’s gymnastics silver medalist hottie Alicia Sacramone knocking a dude out cold at a college party.
